Hi!  We are Jim & Deborah.
We live in Fernandina Beach on Amelia Island.

She’s originally from here, I first came here to work at the radio station in 1971.  We met and married.  Now, we’re retired and loving where we live.

Fernandina Living at the beach

Have you been to our beach?  It’s not overrun by people, it’s still pristine.  We like that.  You will too.  Just remember to leave it the way you found it, ok?

Places to eat

We have great places to eat.  What do we like?  Seafood.   After all, we live on an island.  This was the birthplace of the modern shrimping industry.  Shrimp, scallops, fish.

But we also like barbecue.  We like steak.

So here are places we frequent.

Here’s a place we like to hit for their Mexican Street food. Like most Mexican places, they offer chips and salsa when you sit down. Most everything on the menu is good. We like their Shrimp Salad. It’s laid on a bed of their great tasting rice. Lots of nice size shrimp on the plate, too. They’re located next to Barbara Jeans in the Gateway just on the Island.

Here’s a good place to go for burgers, salads and pizza. The Loop has a great variety of food. I love their grilled Salmon and we both like their mushroom Swiss burger. Pizza? Try their Portabella Mushroom pizza, a bacon lovers favorite. The Loop is on the corner of 14th and Sadler.

Check back as we write about another places to eat in Fernandina.

Things To Do

Other than the beach, there’s downtown on Centre Street.
